John Dougherty, known as Doc, began coaching with East Coast Power Basketball in 2017. Doc played basketball at Cardinal O’Hara High School and Neumann University. Since graduating from Neumann University, Doc has coached the last 26 years at different levels including Our Lady of Fatima 11th and 12th grade high school CYO team for five seasons (Regional Champions for four seasons), SS Philip and James seventh and eighth grade CYO for 18 seasons (three Region 17 Championships), and head freshman boys coach at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown from 2017-2019. Doc is currently the head varsity boys coach at Bishop Shanahan.
Doc has also been a PIAA basketball/NCAA referee for the last 19 years and has officiated in PIAA boys district and state tournaments. Doc resides in Exton, PA with his family.
